Submissions are OPEN for our Fall 2024 Edition!

This issue's theme is BUMP, and is focused on the decadance, materialism, optimism, and exuberance of the 80s!

Our status as a volunteer-run, independent organization limits our funds, but for each accepted piece, authors will receive $10. There is no reading fee! It is always FREE to submit!
 

Writing submission requirements:

Work must be submitted in PDF or Word. We understand not everyone has access to Microsoft Office. If submitting as a Google Doc, be sure that the link is accessible and not restricted.
 

Only UNPUBLISHED submissions will be considered.
 

Submissions should be no longer than 5 pages 12-point font size, single-spaced.
 

Submit no more than 3 pieces per submission cycle. All work must be submitted concurrently. 
 

Poetry and Prose: We accept all types of poetry. Please submit up to 3 poems in one file.
Flash: Keep each piece to 500 words or less.
All other writing: Each piece should be no more than 2000 words.

Keep in mind that we may catch writing errors and contact you for clarification. We will never edit your work without explicit permission.

 

Artwork submission requirements:

We are now accepting artwork! This includes digital art, traditional art, and photography. Files must be submitted as PNG or JPG/JPEG files, and must be 2550 x 3300 px or larger. This art will be used as the cover of the second issue. We pay $10 for any accepted work.

Simultaneous submissions to other publications are totally fine, but inform us as soon as possible if your work will be published elsewhere. Let us know which piece, and we will take it out of consideration.

Please note that by submitting to Laudanum Literary Review you're agreeing to allow us the option to publish your work on our website and on our social media. Though we believe in freedom of expression and love an edge, please refrain from submitting hateful or pornographic material.
 

If your work is accepted, you will be asked for a mailing address over email so we can send you two complimentary copies of the publication.
